Alfie Mair Secures Victory and First Ticket to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals

10-year-old Alfie Mair made a commanding statement at Round 1 of the 2025 Rotax Max Challenge Euro Trophy, taking the win in the Junior category and becoming the first driver to secure a place at this year’s Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain.

In his debut appearance at the Wackersdorf circuit in Germany, Alfie adapted quickly to the fast, flowing layout and technical corners. Despite wet conditions during Friday’s qualifying and a nosecone penalty that left him 9th overall, the young British talent remained composed and focused.

Backed by SFR Motorsport, Alfie delivered a stunning performance in the eliminatory heats, finishing 2nd, 1st, and 1st, which earned him pole position for the pre-final. Despite a tough race and a start formation investigation, he kept his cool and secured 2nd place, setting himself up for pole once again heading into the final.

In the final, Alfie led from lights to flag. Despite pressure from competitors, his calm approach and racecraft saw him control the race throughout, crossing the line first and clinching the all-important ticket to Bahrain.

This achievement marks a major milestone in Alfie’s racing career, as he now looks ahead to representing the United Kingdom on the world stage in December. The support of RPM Race Engines and On Track Marketing has been instrumental in his journey, alongside the continued guidance and expertise of the SFR Motorsport team. This means Alfie is off to the Rotax Grand Finals in Dubai later in the year.

“The Rotax Grand Finals is a prestigious event and winning the first ticket is a dream come true,” Alfie commented after the event. “I can’t wait to take to the track in Bahrain and give it everything.”
